Welsh: traditional name, originally an occupational byname for a steward or wine-pourer, composed of the stem of the verb heilio to prepare, wait on + the diminutive suffix -yn. The name is borne in the Mabinogi by two characters: Heilyn the son of Gwynn the Old, and Heilyn the Red, son of Cadwgawn.
